Thiruvalluvar Arts and Science College, Kurinjipadi celebrated Freshers’ Day 2K25 with great enthusiasm and warmth, extending a heartfelt welcome to the first-year students and their parents into the college community. The event was gracefully hosted by Dr. Sivaranjani, Head of the Department of BBA, and Mr. Ajith, Assistant Professor of BBA, whose engaging presence added charm and vibrance to the proceedings.

The celebration commenced with a soulful prayer song and the traditional lighting of the Kuthuvelakku, symbolizing the beginning of a bright and enlightened academic journey. Colorful cultural performances by students from all three years — I, II, and III — showcased their talent and energy, creating a festive and unifying atmosphere.

Dr. K. Indhumathy, Head PG Department of English through a well-curated audio-visual presentation, introduced the history and milestones of the college, instilling a sense of pride and belonging among students and parents alike.

Dr. K. Sivagamasundari, Head of the PG Department of Microbiology, then introduced the visionary leadership behind the institution — Chairman Thiru R. Kirubakaran, Treasurer Thiru M.R. Jothy, and Trustee Thirumathy K. Selvakumari — whose unwavering support and guidance continue to be the foundation of the college’s growth and excellence.

Dr. Krithika, Head of the Department of Biochemistry, proudly introduced the esteemed Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Kavitha Senthilnathan, highlighting her academic journey, accomplishments, and leadership values. This was followed by department-wise audio-visual presentations, offering a vibrant and creative glimpse into each academic stream.

Mrs. P. Nirmala, Head of the PG Department of Computer Science and Applications, addressed the students on the rules and regulations of the college, emphasizing discipline, punctuality, and academic integrity.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Thiru K. Dhanraj, M.Com., B.L., Deputy Secretary of the Bar Association, Virudhachalam, and a distinguished alumnus of the college. His inspirational speech motivated students to dream big while staying grounded in values.

Our beloved Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Kavitha Senthilnathan, then delivered her presidential address, outlining the college’s mission, student responsibilities, and the importance of character and academic dedication.

A special Parent Feedback Session, conducted by Mrs. R. Usha, Head of the PG Department of Commerce, provided a meaningful platform for parents to share their thoughts and appreciation.

As a gesture of encouragement and recognition, awards and cash prizes were presented to students who participated in the cultural performances and contributed to the success of the event.

The celebration concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Mr. G. Marimuthu, Librarian (i/c), who acknowledged the contributions of the management, faculty, students, and parents.
