History

Microbiology department was established in 1997. The Department offers UG Micro-Biology and PG Degree in Applied Microbiology from the academic year 2009 since then has made significant advancements in almost every sphere of academics as well as research. At present the department consists of total five faculty members and two non teaching staff.

Vision & Mission

To be a Department of Excellence recognised nationally and internationally for clinical microbiology, education, training and research. To conduct innovative and relevant research enabling the development, conveying and application of knowledge to further the science and practice of Medical microbiology and Microbial biotechnology, to provide opportunities for students to secure Apprenticeship in industries and service agencies.

To facilitate the latest technical information pertaining to the emergence of infectious disease, laboratory bio- safety and the self preventive measures from hazardous agent.



To provide research intelligence, finding collaborators and disseminate knowledge to audience by promoting group discussions, seminars, symposia and conferences.
